Stay Connected with Multi Me

During the COVID-19 lockdown, staying connected with friends, family and support networks became more important than ever.

RIX and Multi Me developed the Stay Connected toolkit to help people with learning disabilities and their supporters keep in touch, share information and continue everyday activities while staying at home.

The Buddy tool helped supporters keep people safe and provide support when needed, while the Stay Connected mini-apps provided accessible ways to maintain structure, communication and social connection.

Stay Connected was designed to complement traditional communication such as telephone and video calls, rather than replace it.

Stay Connected could be used to:

  • Message people in an accessible way

  • Connect with Circles of Support

  • Share pictures, videos, links and files

  • Use a Diary, Calendar and simple planner

  • Use a RIX Wiki to share important wellbeing information

  • Use simple surveys to check in with groups of people

The toolkit could be accessed using a computer, tablet, iPad or smartphone, helping people stay connected with their support networks at a time of significant isolation.
